All Done, for Now
SO we got home from Brenda's second teaching tour last night.
Cross Country Education sent B to five cities.

They flew her to Austin, TX (but sent her MANUALS to a cancelled site in San Antonio, more later)...

...and Houston for the first of two.

Last week was Little Rock (photographed here cuz she started running her own registration table)

and Memphis...

..and finally Nashville. For which the pics are 'specially poopy cuz I was running in Stopped-Giving-A-Raggedy-(Bleep) Mode. There were reasons.
First of all? Let me say there were many fun times and moments that would have never happened otherwise, much like B's first tour. In fact, B started saying Oh, Go Have Fun while I Work and Blah blah. But in reality? It was still quite the beating for me. Here's why.
My typical day went like so.
6:00 AM - B's up showering, lets me sleep long enough to get done
6:30 AM - She's up and I'm packing her lappy, projector, snatching her Mountain Dew Voltage from the fridge and her favorite flavor of Pop-Tarts (psst, it's Cinnamon Roll)
7:00 AM - In her presentation room, setting her projector height, cabling her lappy blah blah blah

7:15 AM - Hiding our luggage under B's presentation table. You see, we're to be checked out of the room before her teaching ends. We've only been booked for one night and are expected in the next town that evening
7:30 AM - MUST BE GONE cuz Random Black Man in running clothes = *gasp* unprofessional.
Also, by now I've nabbed B's room key for checkout.

8:30 AM - Done running in the exercise room, showered and back to a teensy bag packed for me
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM My time. Unless wherever I'd like to go isn't open yet. Or unless it's an hour to an hour-and-a-half away. Or unless B's having a crappy day--in which case, I might scrap my plans and do something else so I'm available as soon as she's done
Somewhere between 2:30 - 4:00 - Grab B, the luggage and the gear (which she's typically torn down)
4:00 - 6:00 PM - Drive her where she wants her dinner
6:00 - ??? - Drive anywhere from 90 minutes to three-and-a-half hours to the next city
9:XX PM - 10:XX PM - Survey the next meeting room after checking in
11ish - Try to sleep
Which started getting a WEE BIT OLD when every day, it's another road trip to a new town I've never seen before with new destinations to see (or not) in which you never get to leave your shit in one place for a solid day.
But between then and now and the previous then? Still haven't told you 'bout Lady Bey's concert. Or Flight of the Conchords. Or the rest of Father's Day weekend.
And there's also 22 new-to-me coasters boarded in those three weeks, too.
Where do I start...?
