The Things We Forget

I was over Ree-Ree's for her brother's birthday and poking at her while she was being her typical self and...my phone stopped recording video. It told me I was out of space. Huh?

Turns out video consumes a lot of memory. Who'da thunk?

When we got home, I removed my (faulty) LifeProof case so it could finish drying out. Meanwhile, B handed me the box and excelsior from her birthday S7, expecting me to pack it away-slash-whatever dorks do with that sort of thing. Since all the stars seemed to point in the right direction, I used the removal tool in her box to pop open my SIM/memory slot, plug my chip into an adapter and remove all of 2015's pics and video from my chip. Unfortunately, that was only 3,000 pics/vids of 13,000--but that buys me 30GB.

What to do, what to do...? There's a 128GB chip onboard now. Sandisk's 200GB chip is much slower than the one in my phone. Samsung's 256GB chip is horrifically expensive. Or I could simply back up more photos to my home desktop and a hard disk at work for posting and discussion.

My problems are certainly NOT the worst you can have. Nevertheless, feh.

Me, Being Nice

One of the weekend's highlights: Time with my Fam for Ree-Ree's brother's birthday.
B and his wife are getting to be special friends.
Here's a lot of us diving in for a selfie.

And, Not So Much

Here's what's left of the Enterprise's pad at Valleyfair.
At one time, it was one of five rides at the park that spun riders upside-down.
With its removal, there are now only two.

It's being replaced with a ride that goes in circles--much like this year's new ride.
Except it also rises on a pole. A sort-of tall pole, but not the tallest in the park.
In fact, it's the shortest ride of its kind throughout the chain running this place.

Have I mentioned sister park Canada's Wonderland is getting an inverting flat ride next year? Their second in two years? Yeah.

I saluted their ingenuity.
"Don't do that," gasped B. "There are children about."
"They're going back to school, right?" I quipped. "They'll learn worse."
