They FOUND HIM!  They FOUND HIM!

Can you believe it?  So many of these creepy freaks are never caught...

[identity profile] rachelk121.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm not sure he is alone in this...

i think he's just a nutjob who knows a lot about the case

[identity profile] nefret.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
im not going to cast my lot with this guy until i find if the dna evidence matches him.

TOO many people confess to murders and crimes just so their names can be forever connected to the case in perpetuity. when i heard about him doing research on the case and obsessing about it and doing papers for it in college, that made my ears perk up and made me go "errr?"

after reading that encyclopedia of serial killers, i think its given me a bit of insight. one woman fell in love with a murderer in prison (i believe it was one of the hillside stranglers), and she devised a plot to kill a woman in his M.O. to make it look like the killer was still loose. she bungled the murder and is in prison herself for attempted murder.

i wouldnt put it past this guy to have confessed just to get his name as a footnote in relation to this case.

i reserve my judgment until further investigation.

Yeah, something just doesn't seem right.

He goes from ATL to CO to kidnap the girl, ends up sexually assulting her, tying her up and beating and strangling her.

And it's an "accident"?

Nuh uh.

A bit of cynicism...

[identity profile] wlotus.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder if it's him, or if he's just pulling their legs (or was put up to the "confession").

And I cannot help but think that if her name had been LaQueesha Sheilds, no-effen-body would have still been looking for a killer a decade after the fact.

Re: A bit of cynicism...

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Or Erica Rodriguez for that matter.

But you have to admit everybody heavily suspected the parents for years. Imagine having your kid murdered and the whole world swearing you did it. Only you DIDN'T. That's light years past merely effed up.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I think in his own warped, sick, twisted way he wanted go set the record straight. Honest truth? I believe him.

Only because this animal wasn't 'finished' with whatever additional monstrosity he had in mind.

A lot of people suspected the parents, yes. This doesn't prove it wasn't them, though. So far all this proves is some nutjob who obsessed over the case has claimed to be part of the crime (though not the killer).

[identity profile] vikarious.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
YOu would think he wouldn't strangle and beat her if he was going to take her somewhere.

Not, still doesn't make sense to me.

Re: A bit of cynicism...

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You're missing my point. If the general public thought I killed one of MY own...I don't think I could live with that.

[identity profile] vikarious.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
So ten years later some guy with NO connection to the family, who didn't even LIVE in the same state, who is now living in Thailand just decides one day to up and confess?

Oh, well HELL no...being falsely accused of things is one of my hot buttons, too.

[identity profile] cplady.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard conflicting statements between last night and this morning, so it's difficult to judge whether this is really the fellow who did it or not. Regardless, if he's confessing (for whatever reason) and they have the evidence to back it up, at least it will put the family of JonBenet as peace.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Who also lived in ATL where they used to live, then in CO where they moved. Who worked as a primary school teacher with outstanding child pornography charges here in the States.

Little more compelling now?

[identity profile] vikarious.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
They moved out of ATL when she was a baby.

I did not hear that he lived in CO, I heard that he had lived in CA and knew a professor in CO.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
There's evidence that he applied for a teaching license in CO.

[identity profile] e-kick.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! I can't believe they actually caught him. And if it wasn't for that professor they probably wouldn't have ever gotten him! The poor Ramsey's. They didn't really even know the guy!

[identity profile] e-kick.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's desperation my dear of a very sick kind. He tries to kidnap her but someone in the house stirs. He takes her down to the basement and things just become desperate. Perhaps she wasn't cooperative. He had in his mind this beautiful plan and it wasn't working out and the little girl wasn't being taken as easily as he hoped. So he gets when he can out of the situation but takes it just a little too far. His passion in the crime got the better of him in the moment and he took it over the edge sooner than he planned.

These are sick mf-ers.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Makes perfect sense.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to become violently ill.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
WHOA.
Your explanation makes perfect sense.
Certainly not what happened!

Let me clear the air on that immediately...

[identity profile] pennycuts.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He's a sick bastard! SICK SICK FUCK!!

[identity profile] quantalla.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
he has the CREEPIEST, evillest, awfullest eyes in history.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
He just looks all wrong, you know?

[identity profile] toomuchtalk.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, snap. I feel bad for judging the parents as guilty (I MEAN, WHO DIDN't).

Glad this case is closed though.

[identity profile] quantalla.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
every time i have to go back to the msn homepage and see his picture ... (SHUDDER)

[identity profile] san-simeon-girl.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you're wrong. You'll see...

[identity profile] san-simeon-girl.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I heard he was their neighbor.

He only confessed when they arrested him. They said "you're under arrest for first degree murder" and he said "it was SECOND degree!"

[identity profile] amberskye72.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I have watched or read the news on this since yesterday when it broke.

I am so glad they caught him.

I felt bad that for over 10 years the family had to live with people speculating and assuming they were guilty.

I just hope that the truth comes out and if this man is indeed the person who kille JonBenet then convict him.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
So now he's on a crusade to let the world know he wasn't quite SO bad.
Never mind the OTHER things he intentionally did.

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
When you work around BS all day, you develop a rather keen sense of smell.
You know exactly what I'm saying, don'tcha?

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, usually shit like this is perpetrated by someone who knows the child. I thought they did it, too.

And suspect or not, that Mom--bless her soul--still kinda got to a lotta people back in the day.

[identity profile] san-simeon-girl.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think he's lying?

Why on EARTH would someone lie about something like that, and invite the wrath of the world, not to metion sure and horrible abuse in prison, upon him??

[identity profile] ehmondieu.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
It was all we talked about at work today. Then again, I'm at a different branch for a bit. He is just CREEPY!

Let's not jump too quickly....

[identity profile] momlady.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Although he has confessed to the murder, his ex-wife says he wasn't even here in CO at that particular time. He also states that he drugged JonBenet, when in fact, they never found any drugs in her system at the autopsy.

Right now, it's only his word...and he's still considered innocent until proven guilty.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see the person who murdered her to be found and given what he deserves. I was excited about reading that they had found him, but he could just as well be someone who just wants the attention.

I pray this is the right person, but I've got to hold my judgement until I see some sort of proof. There's a lot of strange people who will confess to things they've had no part of...

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
To be noticed, notorious, have a 'name' for yourself--provided you were sufficiently delusional. Believe me, people lie about things like this all the time.

But I don't see that in this case. Delusional folks tend to work with grandiosity like an artist with a canvas. There's messages on the radio and television as celebrities, government agencies and very powerful people are all somehow deeply concerned with THEM and only them. Meanwhile this guy is working vigorously to justify and minimize what he did. It flies right in the face of the typical delusional MO.

Re: Let's not jump too quickly....

[identity profile] newlifeinstpaul.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, we won't know everything about the evidence at hand until he's taken to trial.

But so far, the pieces of the puzzle--his life history, his employment choices, even where he was when they tracked him down--are far too compelling to ignore.

BTW, I don't buy his story about drugging JonBenet. He's attempting to minimize his crime by saying she wasn't in pain as he did what he did.

Life-long compulsive pedophile? No doubt at all. Not even for a minute.

Re: Let's not jump too quickly....

[identity profile] momlady.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't doubt it either. One story I read says he was married to a 12-year-old. In any case, I hope they find out soon whether he was the one or not. We've been waiting 10 years for this!
