(Another) Dork Post
The New York Auto Show starts when? Today, tomorrow? Anyway I'm a big fan of shiny cars and new car introductions cuz I'm from the D and that's all we did. Never mind that I hope not to buy another car for at LEAST another three years. Knock on wood. Well, if we keep driving the Forte like we've been, perhaps two. But I'm hoping three. Anywayyyyyyyy I said that to say this.
Did these two mid-size sedans switch places or what?

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata dialed the radical styling back for the grannies of the world, while...

The updated Camry tries to scream I'M. NAWT. LAAAAAAAME!!!!!!!!
If I HAD to buy a car in this class, it wouldn't be new anyway. I'd get a 1-2 year old Optima, beating depreciation and keeping most of their 60K bumper-to-bumper warranty. But let's say I had to buy a NEW one this fall. Still wouldn't buy either. Why? So far, so good with my vision--no presbyopia means I don't need a Toyota dash. The Sonata just doesn't do it for me. The Fusion's back seat is too small. The Mazda6? Hmmm. Given how long it took Mazda/Furd to get their existing co-designed small engine families right, solo Mazda-developed high-compression variants worry me a bit. I don't know what they're gonna do at, say, 150K miles and I don't wanna be the first to find out. If the Altima's non-leather interiors wasn't lined with 70s velvet painting canvases/cheap carnival plush toy skins, I'd strongly consider it. BuUUut the Accord comes with dual-zone heating/cooling standard AND I don't live alone. Ding ding ding! Winnah.
Except--of course--I wouldn't buy a car in that class at all were it two-three years from now and I was buying new product. I'd probably spin in dizzying circles between the mini-CUVs. The new Chevy edition of the Buick Encore (hey, it almost has a center console) and the Jeep Renegade (have you seen it yet? It's a Little Car for Dudes. They're gonna sell a ZILLION of 'em) but more than likely the Honda HR-V (US spec of the overseas Vezel). Wait, weren't they s'posed to introduce that in New York? Where's the press release?
Just so you know? Thoughts in my head spin even faster than they do in my posts. Imagine that!
