Yay Excitement.

The Deep South Dirtay Dirrrtay Burbs got five inches of snow last night--every inch of which fell while I was at the gym running a 5K-and-change. Since it's been Not Winter for a few weeks, there was little to no residual salt on the roads. Since the temps dropped so fast, it was also a heavy, wet Michigan snow that packs into ice in minutes. On the last major turn home, I kissed a curb hard enough to kill a tire.

Or knock it for a loop instead. I'd sworn I'd ruptured a sidewall. Lucky me, I guess I'd only blown my bead. So a free repair put me back on the road. If 'free' doesn't count precious vacation time I'd have rather spent between Memorial and Labor Days.

Funny how I found myself wishing for the annoyances of a typical ten-hour day instead.

Ah, well. If this is the worst that happens, life's not so bad.
