Back at ValleyFair--sorta. OR....
May. 21st, 2017 06:11 pm2:11:37.6. SORTA.

So I'm up at five in the morning on a Sunday for a Seven AM start...
At the MOST IMPRESSIVE SITE for a half-marathon EVAR. They literally had a total of Eight (Bleep)in Portapotties.

I look shocked again, right...? For once, it's not cuz I'm being a sarcastic jackass.

I've just been told that this half-marathon is NOT a half-marathon after all.
It's--per the pace team guy--about a half-mile longer than 13.1 miles. Others have measured it longer.
Hadn't finished a training run (you know, an honest 13.1 distance?) in less than the low-mid 2:20s.
Horrified didn't begin to cover it.

Not that it stopped me from being a dick.
This is my re-enactment of a typical 'spot me 'mongst the field' photo.

This, however, IS the whole field.
Not everyone's running a half, either. Many are running a 'quarter' marathon.
Given Cedar Fair's laser precision with distances...? That's somewhere between five and eight miles.

Here's the whole field running around the parking lot.
The puddle-laden, wobbly-paved field where they charge $17 a space when the coasters are running.

They ran us behind the park, besides the park, through the park, then back to the pads 'round Mile Four.

Then out past the front of the park, down the road, past Amazon, thru Murphy's Landing (a faux primitive settlement), back through the park AGAIN, then back thru Puddle Park and back to the pads at Mile Eight.

Back out 'longside the highway for another lap (Murphy's Landing West Gate blah blah blah) and we were done.

Bling!

B thought it was the Best Race Ever. The walk from Race Village to the car was oh, maybe 100 feet.
