The First 500: My deductible for crashing my damned car. Total repair cost was just under $5K. Half of THAT involved replacing my full-stop-and-start smart cruise sensor. It sat for an additional three days while they found somebody to calibrate it.
They'll become more common with time (nowadays, you can't buy a new Camry or Santa Fe without one) but I spose im the second or third idiot to crash one. Oh speaking of extra days in the shop...
REASONS 501-830ish - The cost of the rental car while my car got fixed. And sat and waited. Which made the rental even more expensive.
The Last Minute,Triumphant(?) Stupid March to a Thousand: So it's Christmas Eve, right? And My ATMOS amplifier stops making big boomy stereo sounds. And I fumble about and deduce the problem (just accidentally bumped the 'B' speaker option on the remote, to which there's no speakers attached) but ALSO realize that somehow, SOMEway the ATMOS amplifier I paid extra money for (and attached extra speakers to?) has never ever ever actually played anything in ATMOS mode. My brains were smoking and while testing and rewiring and recabling I bumped the amp into the bottom of my cabinet. Which has happened 9845749857498 zillion times before. Except this time? Something went 'pop' and the amp made its own small cloud of smoke and then? The ATMOS amplifier that's never played ATMOS decided it would never play ATMOS. Ever.
After twenty minutes of yelling at myself and freaking out, Da Missus decided to let her Out-of-Control Tazmanian Devil Husband go spinning to Best Buy five minutes before it closed to go Wuh-BLAH-blah-fooo-BLAH at a cashier for a replacement. At an Amazon price-match rate, at least.
After-after which I told B (again) to pack up my Christmas gifts and save our money. Her high-maintenance bitch of a spouse wastes too much money on his own.
