Some of you might not have found that funny. Sorry. I've got that gallows point-of-view only Six Mile and Schaefer can give you. When you find out how Truly Fucked Up life CAN be, it's amazing what you can laugh about.

AnyWAYYYY lemme summarize. Brenda found a something in one breast--which, as we all know turned out to be cancer. Coulda had a lumpectomy, opted for a double mastectomy. Pathology after the fact? Cancer in both of 'em.

Started chemo, started losing hair. Was told she might only thin out, but got freaked out by Falling Hairs Everywhere. Brendas will be Brendas SO she buzzed it all. Lo and behold! There's a couple moles on her scalp that weren't there before. One's a bit irregular looking.

She's going to the dermatologist today. 'Wish me luck!' She says.

Luck? Really? Given all the OTHER shit going on, what are they gonna do? Remove a small patch of skin from your scalp? Is that all? Are we done then? GREAT!!!

Fuck's SAKE man. I don't even know why she's trippin. She's going back on the table at least three more times AFTER chemo. Worst that can happen after this mole ain't about shit in comparison.

Maybe I'm jaded. Or saving my freakouts for the Genuinely Ugly Parts. Works for me, though. Either way.

It's important to save freakouts, they can be a form of art.
And I wish her luck ANYWAY. :)

If you ask me, 'Luck' equals Gettin That Fucker GONE and asking questions later. But they weren't my breasts, nor is it my scalp. Furthermore, after advising B to get a lumpectomy (she insisted on my POV, I did NOT want to give it) I've officially retired from offering opinions. Mostly.

WHAT THE FUCK. I hope it's just a whole lot of nothing. Good grief, you guys have been through the wringer, though. I'll be thinking of you both.

What's some more tiny cancer on top of cancer when you're already being treated for cancer? Might as well find it all now. Then again, my cancer viewpoint is also jaded right now.

They told her they were normal for a mole on your head.
You just hardly get to see them, that's all.

Sorry about that.
I'm not sure what happened.

I was trying to say I hope it does not get worse.

I was wondering if you were being sarcastic, but I couldn't make sense of it that way either! No worries.

Oh jeez!!

I hope that turns out to be nothing, and I wish her best of luck!

Turned out to be nothing...but even it it was?
This would have been the quickest and easiest Thing Gone Wrong to fix.

Bloody hell, the universe really has it in for Brenda at the moment. Thing is, she seems pretty sure she's going to beat the universe and if I was a betting gal I'd back her

I wish I knew what to say. It sounds like a completely sucky situation. I hope for the best for her. I keep her in my thoughts.

Gordon's sister opted for a double mastectomy as well even though they saw nothing in the second breast. It wasn't until they did a full biopsy of the second after removal that they found cancer there too.

I read recently that more women opt for the more radical treatment when they "don't have to", but B makes the third woman I know personally who opted for a more radical approach only to discover the cancer was more widespread than the docs originally thought. The thing is, until it's more widespread, it's not visible so why not be safer than sorry?
