Bye Felicia I mean SUMMER.
Apr. 20th, 2017 08:56 amCrappy caseload at work, sick wife at home.
Crappier caseload, sicker wife.
Let's say I haven't had the most fun lately.
Let's also acknowledge that thus far, it's been like this for a length of time as long as a classic summer vacation. Except we're not quite done.
When someone takes as much time off work as I've taken, but all at once...? They liquidate their caseload and let them start over with an 'average-sized' one. Only I've taken that time in week-long installments. Sooooo that's not how they've treated me. At least I've had SOME extra help on weeks Four and Five. Hope to see the same come Week Six.
Not even sure what'll cheer me up these days.
I know something that WON'T tho.
Our life's been so charmed over the last seven, eight years that what B would call a 'quiet summer?' Would be this..
- Only two extended weekends at our favorite regional theme park
- A day at her pierogi festival
- Maybe a short Father's Day weekend somewhere pricey
Due to a combination of the following factors
- B's additional surgery and recovery time
- No vacay time for B, shot while waiting for disability
- Loss of 'bout $400 a week every week in between
(and mind you, she DOES have disability coverage)
Exactly none of those things will be happening this year.
Sure, things could be worse. In MANY different ways.
But I need time to pout about that.
