Today was Decent, I Guess
May. 30th, 2017 11:07 pmKinda wished I'd been more productive, but B was happy so that's a good thing.
Slept in until time for B's followup with her plastic surgeon. Whom she didn't actually see at all. But she DID consult with her favorite PA and post-op findings are unremarkable. Sorry. That means 'nothing unexpected.'
After which I talked her into brunch at Golden Corral. They're new in town...hasn't been one in the state since a single outlet in Rochester dropped the franchise brand years ago. A former Old Country Boofay VP has become a franchisee, taking over select former OCB locations. Some items were better than OCB's, others not so much. What hasn't changed between OCG and GC? The Rugged Lookin Clientele™. Cuz DAYUM.
We took advantage of the weather to visit our Secret Rainy Day PokeySpot for loads of Magikarp and four Dratini in a couple hours. Oh--and B hatched a Mareep, which made her Super Happy (never had one). All told, I kept her out of the house far longer than she'd expected. Mostly a good thing, 'till the pain meds wore off.
Then off to the gym for a half-assed chest day and a slightly faster 5K than before (almost 29 mins flat) but slower than what I'd typically call slow. Still feeling the post-half residuals a twitch--but I don't question whether or not I'll finish my run.
I'll leave with with an Untold Tale from the Auto Show.
Oh looky! It's the new, redesigned Chevy Volt! A hybrid for only $34K loaded.
Lemme hop inside and try one on for size and....ooooooh.
What's worse than a show car coming apart at the seams?
When you have to TELL THEM their damned car's having a problem.
