Ever meet someone and get that first impression that they're a really cool person?
I mean as in mellow, easy-going, someone you can just be yourself around and it's okay?
And how in the hell can you figure that out from a couple pages of LJ posts anyway?

Iono.

I kinda got that vibe from [livejournal.com profile] inclementine, though. And lucky me, I was right.
Somehow, I seem to wind up doing something totally out of character whenever I'm around her though. Okay--maybe that's only two for two, but that's not the point!

First time around I wound up uhh, bellydancing. Yeah ME! Dancing at all outta me is damned near miraculous, much less that.

Second time around? I came to her housewarming thang, stepped into to a room full of people I mostly don't know to say, "Hi everybody! My name is..." and then, something that starts with S.

You KNOW I don't do that.

That's a name I only tell people when I'm face to face with them. I won't spell it, won't type it, but will only say it when people can hear it. It's almost kinda blossomed (Metastasized? Cuz there's no calling this healthy!) into a Kill Bill or Layer Cake thing on its own. There's an unspoken, but well-known rule that no one uses my name here, so that I get to tell others first. I've had phone conversations, great dates and have still nearly forgotten to tell people until they ask, "Hey, what does S. stand for?" I have friends on this forum that I've known for years, love to death who still won't use it for fear of bungling it up (*cough*MEANERS*cough*) even though they've been told. Other folks call me Abdul or even by my internet nicknames around other people, but will only use S. when we're in smaller groups. And then? And then? There's the legend of J. Banana. Cute as a button. Very intriguing as a person. Hell, I probably woulda dated her were she into me. But? BUT? Even though we've met, lunched, laughed, et cetera? She still doesn't know my name cuz she's too. Damned. STUBBORN. Are too. Are too. LalalalalalLALLALALLA but I digress.

But after my introduction, my most gracious hostess' face screwed up just a bit.

"What did you say your name was?"

As a matter of fact, I even forgot to tell HER the first time we hung out. Um, whoops? It wasn't intentional. Honestly.

If she was really, really cool tho? She still wouldn't tell [livejournal.com profile] san_simeon_girl what it was. Just to make her crazy.

PS - It was really nice meeting everyone and I wish I wasn't nursing an insufficient sleep/too much work/Diet Rockstar headache at the time. Hope to get to know you all better soon.

Shoved? I was on the opposite end of a table!
And I even spotted you four letters. Four! Out of a possible SIX!

And alternate pronunciations for 'R?'
Do you know any?
