...or, The Beauty of Being Face-to-Face

Hey! Didn't this happen way back in October?
Yeah...but come on, this is ME. You're lucky you're seeing this the same year!

When I speak of the beauty of being face-to-face, you might think I'm talking about Millennium Force's 310-foot tall lift hill. Being the tallest, fastest continually-operating coaster with more than two hills ON THE PLANET!!!!1111oneoneonewun and all.

Or maybe even Top Thrill Dragster, boasting a 0-to-120 MPH launch and the tallest, fastest McDonalds arch ON THE PLANET. Well, yeah. That was fun and all. Especially the Exclusive Ride Time. Can you imagine riding that with no line? Or better yet, to take a ride, get unlatched from the seats and urged by the rideops "Quick! Quick! Can you walk right back on the next train? Please? Please? Pretty please? We need your body weight on the train!" You WISH I was kidding, don't you?

But the best part of the day, by FAR, was hanging out with everybody after a two-year hiatus.
Actually, I don't think I had ever hung out with Tina before (left) or GregLeg aka Oat Boy from the Minivan Of Justice days (extreme right, duh?). Linda was fun as always and then there was FarmGirl.
Face to face with Farm-Farm was kind of a highlight. You see, I had a bit of a falling out with her and she was off my f-list for about a year. Which was really sad. I mean, we were once Co-Captains of Dong Really Dumb Sh!t on video! Who can forget Don't Step on The S where I convince total strangers of what they can and cannot do in the park? Or clomp Brad for being naughty? Of course, only a teensy fraction of my profanity-laced prank call to Gump made the tape--and you can't here him stammering on the other end of the line, so no one will EVER know how deadly funny that one really was. But I digress.
But once we were in each other's presence again? That was over. I missed her and I'm pretty sure she missed me too. We talked it out, hugged, made up and got to doing more stupid stuff.
It was fun to hang out with Kar-uh and Matt too, which I had never done before. They just weren't around for this pic, that's all.

Speaking of face to face changing your opinion--that's an UNDERSTATEMENT when it comes to Maverick.
Hoo crap. Yeah, it's not the tallest, fastest, loopiest--doesn't set a single world record. That having been said, it's probably the best thing they've built since Magnum, if not the Gemini.
I mean LOOK at it. It's creative for once. Weird hills and hills with weird loops and...

What in the HELL is that? Is that an inline twist? The sort of loop you'd generally take 80 feet off the ground only ten feet over the water? And then a twist from there to another Just Plain Weird hill that twists like...wait. WHAT?

Tina woulda planted a kissie on the lift hill, but she was too short to jump the construction fence.
So kneeling before its glory would have to suffice.

Of course, it had the usual trappings of a Dork Event. Which by definition, would include free lunch.
It was fairly good as these things go, but...hey, haven't I seen those beans they served before?

I JUST KNEW IT. The mythical Weirdo Beans! Thanks, Midget. Back to our show!

The tour of the Halloweekends Makeup Shop was also extremely cool.
It's being conducted by one of the Live Entertainment Mangers / One of The Village People.

Unfortunately, much of the intended scare factor was totally lost because:
1) There were about 405987435098475098724095874354 gazillionteen people in the park.
See the crowd in this photo? Imagine every path in the park looking like this. Yup, kid you not.
2) Half of these people were scarier out of makeup than the Fright Zone Freaks
And Linda? That guy standing by the Tim Hill photo is so on your team
Which shouldn't bum you out much, considering Horsey's got The Daffodil (The Tiny Daffodil) on hers.
If I can finish Angel's transformation chapter in good time tonight, I might edit some video clips tonight. Yes, yes THAT video clip. The most controversial video clip evar Dot Com. Wait, almost forgot...on the PLANET!

Date: 2006-11-16 05:12 pm (UTC)Well, I was gone for the last five days (hunting), but I was handwriting my story. Still have to type that up, plus my blog post (which is a few pages long!). I'm hoping I'm not too far behind!

Date: 2006-11-16 05:27 pm (UTC)People always say "My novel is SOOO bad I don't want ANYONE to see it!" But I think mine isn't all that bad, really! Maybe it's just motherly pride or something. ;)
