Well THAT sucks. I'm not the least bit surprised, mind you. During the last CF conference call, Kinzel said GL was they were looking for ways to cut costs and adjust the park's expenses to its audience size. X-Flight was doubtless the biggest and most expensive maintenance headache to boot.
Frankly, the premise on which SF spent all that money on the park was their plan to compete directly with CP for the Detroit market. You're not gonna make up for that market loss with PA--especially when those folks have a park right under their noses.
And frankly, CF is right in pointing to $30 million they've already spent on the park. VF and WoF have drawn more revenue, always been profitable and have NEVER been granted that much money over two seasons. WoF got $12 million and had to wait seven years for another budget like that. VF's never had a $15 million cap budget. Then again, they're performing minor miracles with this year's $6 million, so I ain't mad.
But THAT kinda sucks? But only kinda. I was hoping to take Da Babies on their first flying coaster this summer and I suppose that won't be happening.
Besides, you still have a B&M and a full-circuit invert. Do I? *jealousy*
I *get* the business side of it. Doesnt' mean I have to like it. If fact I HATE it. Purely selfish, but oh well. I loved that ride. I loved the free falling feeling when it flipped you over. Who knows where it will go, but I hope it goes somewhere I can still ride it.
I don't see VF getting another major coaster for a while, much less any of GL's. If they're smart, we'll get a Camp Snoopy next year. If they're brilliant, we'll get a clone of KBF's spinner the year after that.
If they were my slaves, I'd make them clap over Exaclibur, build a bridge across the service road and raise me a watery utopia.

Date: 2006-11-22 03:51 pm (UTC)And since I sequenced the credits first, then spliced video clips underneath the same sequence? MUNGED UP ON ALL THREE. BLARGH.
I decided to add the credits around midnight Sunday. So yeah. It was literally a 10-minute addition to each piece.
