When Really Wrong, Half-Right and Some TALKING Make Things Really Right
Black Lives Matter planned to protest at Crashed Ice.
If you know me and read me, you know I haven't agreed with the locations of most--if not all--of their protests in town. Typically, a wrong-headed, wrong idea in the wrong place.
But for once...? They were at least half-right. They were taking the fight to a city where a fight was worth fighting (in Officer Run-Em-Over's town). What they were planning to DO probably didn't involve raising awareness or bringing a broader consortium to their side...but going to the Mall in Bloomington cuz somebody in Minneapolis got shot--huh? What? Where's the logic?
Anyway, the Mayor invited them in for a nice long chat. And they said what they had to say and the Mayor heard them out and brought some other council members and community folks along and when all was done? BLM called it off.
See how that works?
Protests happen when powerless folk lack an avenue for change and don't feel as if they're HEARD.
So there ya go!
